Amusing Realization…

Posted: March 24, 2010 in Personal, Sex Work

A lot of the debates I get in involving sex work?  I think people would argue with my point of view a whole lot less if they knew I was a nihilist….

There’s the thing. People argue as if the person they’re arguing with probably shares their world view only with a flaw that they must correct.

  2. dead_vladimir says:

    eehhh
    then they codemn you
    for being one
though msot people are nihilists they jsut don’t admit it

  3. Roy Kay says:

Amusing thought, but probably not. Their worldview serves them in two ways:

    1) They get to define themselves as part of a permanent victim class and derive from that a legitimacy to simply lash out at and dismiss inconvenient people. Remember, they are calling for state sanctions, i.e. the power to kick the shit out of people they don’t like.

    2) They also create an inbred “community” that supports their worldview – and guiltsling people into supporting them by protestations of altruism. The presumption is that control=beneficence, while freedom=selfishness; and selfishness is deemed evil.

Alas, Nihilism is evil to them, because it means their whole artifice is without meaning – and derivatively their life along with it.

  4. Ernest Greene says:

Actually, I think it would become just one more epithet they could hurl at you, not knowing that you don’t consider it an epithet.

In fact, they can frame some whole new fallacious arguments around it, and I bet they will too. Should be pretty funny.

    “Besides, she has tattoos!”

    “And….”

  5. Deb Sens says:

Heh seriously, they probably do agree with you but can’t admit it so they pick on stuff that makes THEM uncomfortable!

  6. Carson D Carson says:

    And here I thought you were a Nietzschean… 😛

  7. Rorshack says:

More likely they wouldn’t know what a nihilist is or what an epithet is…

    oh, by the way…Darwinism FTW!

  8. FW says:

They’d just tell you that your nihilism is socially constructed anyway.

  9. Beste says:

I seriously doubt that you’ll ever find any common ground with these ppl
